The world's first humanoid concierge for luxury hospitality. A partnership between El Tosalet and 1X Technologies to redefine the guest experience.
What is NEO
NEO is the first general-purpose humanoid robot by 1X Technologies, designed to navigate human spaces with grace, safety, and intelligence. At El Tosalet, NEO becomes the first humanoid concierge in European luxury hospitality.
Technical Specifications
NEO's proprietary actuator system mimics biological muscle-tendon structures. With 95% backdrivability, 2% torque accuracy, and 0.1mm repetition precision, the system enables compliant, safe movements while maintaining high power output. Maximum hand speed: 8.0 m/s. Walking: 1.4 m/s. Sprint: 6.2 m/s. This is not a stiff industrial robot — it's a fluid, organic mover.
Redwood AI is 1X's generalist vision-language model for task learning and execution. NEO observes, learns, and improves with every interaction. A built-in Large Language Model enables natural conversation — understanding context, retaining member preferences, and reasoning across multiple languages. At El Tosalet, NEO will learn the names, preferences, and rhythms of each member through repeated interaction — a concierge that literally gets smarter every day.
Expert Mode: 1X employees remotely guide NEO for tasks it hasn't learned yet. Each session trains NEO to perform independently next time. Users must actively schedule and approve each connection.
The Vision
El Tosalet is not just a wellness club — it's a vision of the future of living. NEO represents the next frontier: a humanoid presence that assists, guides, and enhances without replacing the warmth of human connection.
With its soft-body design, whisper-quiet operation, and multilingual AI, NEO moves through El Tosalet's Mediterranean gardens and wellness spaces like a natural extension of the hospitality team — not a machine, but a presence.

Concierge Applications
From dawn yoga to midnight arrival — NEO is always present, always helpful, never intrusive.
NEO uses dual 8.85MP stereo cameras at 90Hz to recognize returning members by face. Greets by name in their preferred language (EN/ES/NL/FR/DE). Carries luggage (up to 25 kg) to room. Provides room orientation — opens doors, demonstrates amenities, adjusts lighting preferences learned from prior visits. First interaction: <3 seconds from approach to personalized greeting.
Operates autonomously across all wellness zones — spa, yoga terrace, pool deck. Delivers towels and amenities (8 kg per arm). Announces treatment availability via LLM-powered conversation. Monitors towel supply, self-dispatches replacements. Noise: 22 dB — quieter than ambient spa music. Learns member spa preferences: "Mrs. de Vries always books the hammam at 10 AM."
Navigates El Tosalet's 32,700 m² grounds using visual SLAM + IMU tracking. Walks at 1.4 m/s alongside guests. Narrates estate history (Julia Jiménez Muro, 1967), identifies Mediterranean flora, leads to hidden viewpoints. Self-returns to charging dock when battery reaches 15%. Maps learned routes improve with every patrol.
Receives orders from restaurant POS system via 5G/WiFi. Carries trays (up to 8 kg per arm) to any garden table using learned routes. Navigates around obstacles, adjusts for terrain. Announces dishes by name in guest's language. Returns empty service to kitchen. Peak service: handles 12–15 deliveries per battery cycle (4 hours).
During overnight shifts (23:00–07:00), NEO operates autonomously: greets late arrivals, escorts to rooms, performs security patrols with stereo vision. Detects anomalies (open doors, water leaks, unexpected movement). Alerts human security via 5G. Self-charges during low-activity windows. Eliminates need for 2 additional night-shift staff positions (€48K/yr savings).
During club events (capacity 200+), NEO serves as mobile information point — directions, program schedules, artist bios, drink menus. Carries light equipment via Expert Mode for stage setup (remote-guided by 1X, learns for future autonomy). Post-event: assists with clearing, organizing chairs (70 kg lift). Emotive ear-rings display status for approachability.
NEO's Redwood AI retains member preferences across visits: room temperature, preferred drinks, spa schedules, dietary requirements, children's names. Each interaction strengthens the model. After 10+ interactions, NEO anticipates needs before they're expressed. Data stays on-device or encrypted cloud — member can opt out at any time.
NEO autonomously manages its own battery — walks to wall-mounted charging dock when needed. 842 Wh battery; 6 minutes of charge = 1 hour of operation. Machine-washable suit and shoes. IP44 splash-proof body, IP68 submersible hands (pool-deck safe). OTA software updates via 5G. 1X service team provides remote diagnostics.
"El Tosalet will be the first private members club in Europe with a humanoid concierge. Not as a gimmick — as a genuine enhancement to the guest experience. NEO represents our commitment to being at the intersection of luxury and innovation."Jean Clauteaux — COO / General Manager
